The Gete Manitu Chapter of Owasippe Lodge serves the Iroquois Trails District of the Pathway to Adventure Council on Chicago's southwest side. The name Gete Manitu, when translated into English, means Ancient Spirit.
The chapter conducts Unit Elections, Camp Promotions, and Arrow of Light ceremonies for troops and packs throughout the district. We provide staff and ceremonies for District Events such as Klondike and Pow-Wow. In the past, we have hosted our own Camp Promotion Extravaganza to get everyone excited for summer camp. This year we will be running the District Skit-O-Rama as well as staffing the district's First Aid Meet.
Our meetings are open to anyone, so feel free to stop on by. They are the third Wednesday of every month at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. 6435 S. Kilbourn Ave. At our meetings we usually have a quick discussion of business, a game or activity, food, and our favorite...the Lenni Lenape word or phrase of the month!
